Kilserry Church of Ireland

A very clean and simple install was requested by the committee of Kilserry Church of Ireland.  After presented a number of options and beating off the competition Rea Sound were awarded the contract to supply and fit the Martin Audio Omniline speakers and an Allen &

Heath Idr digital matrix.  The beauty of both items is that they are compact, discreet in the place of worship and extremely powerful it what they perform.

The committee did not want the conventional sound mixing console or the requirement of a sound engineer, they simply required a system that they could turn on by way of a switch, walk up to a microphone and it would work - not a problem.  Rea Sound utilised the Allen & Heath Idr 8 unit, small unit allowing initially for 10 inputs (Mics, CD Player, Tape Player etc) to be linked, being relayed to 8 outputs (main place of worship, foyers, crèche, CD recorder, induction loop etc.). And it can be programmed that only certain inputs can be sent to cer- tain outputs.  All the equipment is housed within a rack unit including the amp, induction loop, CD Player, CD recorder and the IDR 8.

A big complaint in any Church is that those sitting near the speakers are deafened and those away from them cannot hear - with the Om- niline this addressed.  The arrays are located to the front of the Church and setup / angled and provide a good even coverage throughout the

room, being equally heard from front to back - hearing is believing

just how good these are.  Cannon Johnston was amazed at the quality describing it as if someone was talking next to you no mater where
you sat in the Church.
